Hello everyone..
A warm greetings..
Hope you all doing good.
Today I am feeling so happy sharing my first experience with the die cutting. Yes die cutting..!! Those who are new to die cutting here's a brief introduction of what it is all about.
Die cutting is the process of using a die to shear webs of low-strength materials, such as rubber, fiber, foil, cloth, paper, corrugate, fiberboard, paperboard, plastics, pressure-sensitive adhesive, tapes, foam and metal sheet. Yes you can cut anything but it depends on your cutting machine as well as the die.
There are various cutting machines available in the market .Here's some of them-Sizzix's Big Shot,Big Kick,Big shot plus, Big Pro, Spellbinders Cuttlebug, Platinum, Tim Holtz's Vagabond, We R Memory Keepers Evolution, etc. You can have an overview of them online as there are many reviews, videos available.
Apart from the die cutting machine you need the dies..they come in a hell lot of varities. I personally like of Heartfelt creations and spellbinders. They have amazing collections of both dies and stamps and coordinating dies for most of the stamps. Apart from them there are dies available from sizzix (you can cut anything out of this die be it paper, leather, fabric anything), altenew, lawn fawn(they are really very cute, especially the stamps) and many more.
So here's my first card that I did using die cutting and some beautiful dies. Have a glimpse of it.

So here's my first card that I did using die cutting and some beautiful dies. Have a glimpse of it.
Here in picture below I have smudged the corners of the white card stock with green ink to add some more beauty to the card.
Heartfelt Creations Products used:
HCD1-748 Arianna Blooms Die
HCD1-779 Regal Borders and Pockets Die
Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit
Other Products used:
Studio G-Pigment ink Light Green
Memento's Lady Bug ink pad
Sponge Daubers
Red cardstock and white cardstock
Martha Stewarts Deluxe score and trim board
White glue and yellow coloured flat pearl.Instructions
To make the card I took a red cardstock measuring 8" x 5 1/2". I scored it on the Martha stewarts deluxe scoring board at 4" marks along the 8" length side and folded it. Then I took a white cardstock measuring 5 1/2" x 4" and die cut one one side of the 5 1/2" side using one of the dies from the Regal Borders and Pockets die set.
I adhered the white cardstock over the red cardstock which is the base of my card using white glue.
To make the flower, I cut out the flower using the Arianna blooms die on the white cardstock. I took the four biggest layers and coloured them using the finger daubers to adhere some ink from the ink pad and then gently smudged it over the petals of the flower. For flower I used Memento's Lady Bug and for the flourish I used Studio G's Pigment ink Light green shade. The flourish here I used is the scrap I got from Regal Borders and Pockets die cut done earlier. I don't have any such thing so I used it as a flourish. I usually collect things that could be useful from the scrap. Then I shaped the flowers using the Deluxe shaping tool and layered them one over the other keeping the smaller one above the bigger one and glued them together and added a small bling(yellow coloured flat pearl). Then I found the best place on card where the flower would look good and adhered it there and added the flourish below the petal. And then finally smudged some of green ink around the borders and corners of the white cardstock to add beauty to it.
Thankyou for stopping by. Hope you like it. Don't forget to leave feedback.
